I'm a graphics whore, sorry... I'm all about amping up the visuals & CGI and everything else to make games what they are now... So modern gaming (y)

both classic and modern bring things to the table and both have their advantages and disadvantages. ill just name a few of each.

Classic Gaming Advantages

The nastalogia Factor
Usually controls were simpler.
Some games just cant make the jump to 3D so are just better as 2D.

Classic Gaming Disadvantages

Graphics are inferior.
Games aren't being made anymore, therefore making them harder to find.

Modern Gaming Advantages

Graphics are excellent.
Games are new and easier to find.

Modern Gaming Disadvantages

Controls are normally more complex and harder to control.
Some games will never make the jump or make poor attempts at jumping to 3D graphics.
There is no nastalogia Factor.

well i'm sure there are more but i was tired when i wrote that post. the main thing is enjoy todays games and respect the games that came before it as there were alot of great classics and some day these some of today's games might even be considered classics aswell.

Hmm, that's kinda tough <=/ , but I like classic a little more because like you guys said, the controls are more simpler than modern games.

Classic because of Mario, Sonic, Starcraft and Battle Tanx. But new school rules for the FPS genre.

It's a hard choice for me personally.

I enjoy the classics like Mario and whatnot from NES. Then you look at the newer games coming out and they are amazing as well in their own right.

I don't think I can say either era is better, but each have there advantages and disadvantages.
